A businessman and his 17-year-old nephew were arrested on Friday following the discovery of a quantity of ganja at their Middle Walk Buxton, East Coast Demerara (ECD) home. Based on reports received, the 65-year-old businessman is presently before the court for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The ganja that was found in the ceiling of the house
However, during a Police operation, a transparent bag was unearthed in the ceiling with 22 small transparent Ziplock bags containing the marijuana.
The bag was brought to the attention of the 17-year-old and the businessman, thus leading to their arrest. They were taken to the Vigilance Police Station where the ganja was weighed and amounted to 37.2 grams.
Police are continuing their investigations.
