Busta Cycling Road race back in action after Hiatus

The usually up tempo Busta Cycle road race is back after some years in hiatus. The event, which was held annually in Berbice and sponsored by the Guyana Beverage Company, was off the radar for a few years. This was mainly due to the absence of General Manager Robert Selman who had returned to his native Trinidad and Tobago. Now that Selman is back in the Land of Many Waters, the event has been returned to the Cycling calendar.

The Busta Cycling Road Race will see top cyclists competing for top honours in Berbice

The race is scheduled for Sunday July 2nd and Guyana’s top cyclists are expected to don their cycling gear and head to Berbice for the grand two-wheel event.
The 60-mile race, organised by the Flying Ace Cycle Club (FACC), will see the riders pedaling off from the front of the beverage company’s Berbice office at Palmyra, to the No. 51 Police Station and back to the starting point.
The coordinator for the race will be Randolph Roberts, who is the founder of the FACC.
The Guyana Beverage Company is a subsidiary of the Trinidadian based SM Jaleel Company.
The presentation ceremony is slated for this week at the Company’s office.
The company whose headquarters is based in Trinidad has a number of subsidiaries throughout the Caribbean. It distributes a number of beverages including the popular Busta soft drinks, Fruta, Tampico, Viva, Island Mist water, Kool Kids, Cran Water and American Classic among others.
