Caribbean Airlines has been named the Official Airline of the Guyana Festival as part of celebrations marking Guyana’s 60th Independence anniversary.
The airline’s partnership supports the Guyana Festival, which will take place from May 15 to 17, 2026. The festival forms part of a wider national programme of events leading up to Guyana’s Independence Day on May 26, under the Guyana Diamond Jubilee theme.
As official airline partner, Caribbean Airlines will run a ticket giveaway promotion during the festival. Six airline tickets will be awarded over the three-day event, with one pair of tickets given out each night. Patrons can enter by purchasing a Guyana Festival Passport, completing the Caribbean Airlines entry page, and submitting it into designated boxes at the event.
In a statement on Thursday, CAL said that acting Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Airlines, Varma Khillawan, said the company was pleased to support the national celebrations in Guyana and highlighted the country’s importance within the airline’s network. He said the airline is supporting the festival as part of its engagement with regional travel and cultural events.
Tourism, Industry and Commerce Minister Susan Rodrigues welcomed the partnership, noting that the festival is intended to celebrate Guyana’s culture and encourage participation from the diaspora. She said the collaboration supports regional connectivity and adds incentives for public participation through the ticket giveaways.
Caribbean Airlines also confirmed that its 60-pound checked baggage promotion, introduced for Guyana’s Diamond Jubilee year, will remain available until September 29, 2026.
The airline said it continues to support regional initiatives that promote cultural engagement and connectivity across the Caribbean.
