Fans gathered at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) on Homestretch Avenue for an exciting Day 8 of the Youth Basketball League’s Geo City Regional competition on May 13, as three teams secured convincing victories to strengthen their positions heading into the latter stages of the tournament.
Tutorial High overpower St Joseph High
Tutorial High produced the most commanding performance of the evening, defeating St Joseph High 57-7 in a one-sided contest.
Leading the charge was Player of the Game Keon Lynch, who delivered an outstanding all-around performance with 23 points, 18 rebounds, nine steals and four assists. Julian Charles provided strong support with 20 points and six steals, while Xavier Scott recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

For St Joseph High, Adoniah Langhorne finished with five points and five rebounds in a challenging outing for his team.
St Stanislaus College cruise past North Georgetown
In the second matchup, St Stanislaus College secured a comfortable 36-15 victory over North Georgetown.
Josiah Lee earned Player of the Game honours after tallying 17 points, six rebounds and seven steals in a commanding display on both ends of the court. Omari White contributed 11 points and five rebounds to solidify the win.
North Georgetown was led by Breanne Ritchie, who scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds in the loss.
St Rose’s High claim victory over Chase’s Academic Foundation
St Rose’s High capped the evening with a 45-18 triumph over Chase’s Academic Foundation.

Shaquan Callendar was named Player of the Game after scoring 13 points and collecting six rebounds. He received support from Jeremy Chung, who added 11 points and four rebounds, while Christian Williams and Juyen Paul chipped in eight points each.
Despite the defeat, Chase’s Academy saw a strong individual performance from Sirr Sampson, who recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, games scheduled for Region Six, Region 10, the East Coast, and the East Bank were rained out and will be rescheduled.

With several teams gaining momentum and others seeking adjustments, the competition continues to unfold as the league progresses toward its decisive stages.
