Georgetown-based Camptown Football Club (FC) and East Bank’s Timehri United have ensured that they have a chance at direct qualification to the 2026/2027 season of Elite League football, both securing playoff semi-final wins on Wednesday night at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre, Providence.
In the opening encounter, Camptown eased to a 3-0 win over Potaro Strikers FC with a double from Ozeal Small and a stoppage-time strike from Jomaal Sedock.
While Camptown dictated proceedings from the first whistle, they took some time to break down a determined Potaro defence. However, on the brink of halftime, Small would put his side ahead, netting in the 41st minute to send them into the break with a slender 1-0 advantage.

The second half saw more of the same from Camptown, and Small would double their lead in the 60th minute before Sedock sealed the deal with a late goal (90+1’).
In the second semi-final, a youthful Timehri United produced a clinical second-half display to defeat Beavers FC 4-0.
While the sides were evenly matched at times during the first half, Timehri grew into the game and dominated possession, which they converted to good effect.
After a goalless first period, Leroy Evans opened the scoring in the 47th minute before goals from Nyron Barrow (54’), Shawn Steele (68’) and Michael Correia (90+4’) completed the rout.
The two sides will now meet in the playoff final, with the winner earning direct promotion to the 2026/27 Elite League. However, the losing finalist will still have a second chance at qualification against Fruta Conquerors (9th place in 2025 season).
The two teams will meet in the qualification playoff final on Sunday, June 21, at the same venue, with kick-off set for 18:30h.
