CANU intercepts over 300 lbs of ganja during Berbice operation

The Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Thursday intercepted over 300 pounds (lbs) of ganja at Tree Pole Back Dam, Corentyne, Berbice, Region Six (Corentyne-Berbice). CANU stated that officers, acting on information received, conducted an operation at a livestock ranch at Tree Pole Back Dam, Corentyne, Berbice where a search was conducted on a wooden structure.

The ganja that was found during the operation

During the search, seven bulky parcels containing a quantity of cannabis were discovered. The cannabis was taken to the CANU Skeldon location, where it was weighed and amounted to 154 kilograms (kg).
At the time of the interception, no arrests were made, but investigations are ongoing.
