Herstelling ‘A’ captain, Anand Bhajan, responded to being questioned as follows:
Q: How do you feel being in the grand finale?
A: “Number one! We feel good! As a team, we worked hard, and it paid off. Now that we are in the finals, we just want to finish all the good work that has been done so far. We’ve been playing together as a team for some time now, and we know each other’s strengths and weaknesses; so, it helps us to help each other.”
Q: What do you believe is the key factor that got you to this stage in the tournament?
A: “Team work and believing in each other! It (winning) would mean a lot to us, as it means we are moving forward as a team and we are reaching the goals we work towards. I expect a lot of turn for our spinners. Our batters will do well; having played the last 2 matches there, we are very much at home there. So, we should be firm favourites.”
Q: What would winning the finals mean to you and your teammates?
A: “Well, it’s been a wonderful competition so far. I must say, ‘Well done!’ to the East Bank (Cricket) Board. Also, you should watch out for Safraz Esau and Ricky Sargeant with the bat, and Reaz Esau and Sargent with the ball.”
Herstelling ‘B’ captain Buddhan Baksh had this to say:
Q: How do you feel being in the grand finale?
A: “I am very happy that my team is in the final. Well, I back my team 100%, because right now everyone on my team is playing good cricket in the batting and bowling departments.”
Q: What do you believe is the key factor that got you to this stage in the tournament?
A: “Well, the final is playing in my home town, and I know how the wicket plays; it suits both batters and bowlers. Come Saturday, you would have to look out for players like myself, Parnell London, Clement Arche and R. Sarabjeet.”
Q: What would winning the finals mean to you and your teammates?
A: “Well, my team played hard cricket to reach to this stage. Winning the final will be great for my team, because everyone had put in the extra effort to reach to this stage.”
Spectators would be allowed on the ground to watch this match, but strict COVID-19 restrictions apply.
