Carib Beer T20 is back

One of the most anticipated cricket tournament, the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Carib Beer T20 tournament, is set to enter its third edition soon, as was disclosed at the launch of the event at the ANSA McAL Trading head office at Beterverwagting yesterday.
The event is expected to get underway subsequent to the rainy season to provide full entertainment to the delight of the spectators.
It is usually one of the most exciting and competitive event on the GCA’s calendar where new talent emerge and traditional players are challenge above their norms.

To date Police Sports Club and Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) in that order are the two winners of the event while Georgetown Cricket Club finished as runners up on both occasion.
Every season the event seems to get bigger and this season is expected to be the same as all the first division teams under the GCA’s umbrella are expected to have preparation in place.
President of the GCA, Roger Harper said he is once again delighted to partner with the beverage giants to provide a tournament where the clubs and players affiliated with the association will be given the opportunity to showcase their talent.
ANSA McAL Trading LTD, Human Resource manager, Sheldon Hazelwood, noted that his entity is very pleased and happy to be associated with yet another phase.
While Marketing Manager of the company, Robert Hiscock, stated that ANSA McAL and Carib sees sport as an integral part of development, particularly for young people and since it is also an important part of Guyanese culture there is no other way for the company to show its support.
The tournament usually draws top cricketers from all part of the country, who find themselves as temporary players in the Georgetown units. Admission to all matches will be free so patrons are encouraged to come out and support cricket in the city.
