Case dismissed against alleged chain snatcher

Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on Thursday dismissed a robbery under arms case against Leon Duncan, an office assistant of Festival City, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, who allegedly stole a quantity of jewellery from Michael Wills.
The victim told the court under oath that he did not wish to give evidence against the 28-year-old man for the alleged offence since he did not fit the identity or description of the man who had robbed him.
It was alleged that on December 28, 2018 while in the vicinity of Norton Street, Georgetown, Duncan stole one gold chain valued $560,000 while being armed with a gun and in the company of another man.
The defendant was represented by Attorney-at-Law Bernard Da Silva.
