Cavilers beat Maris Pleasure in T20 nail-bitter

Cricket fans from the Wakenaam community were on Sunday treated with an exciting T20 encounter between G. Square Cavaliers and Maris Pleasure at the Community Center Ground.

Cavilers won the toss and decided to the take the field as Maris Pleasure posted a reasonable total of 140 all-out in 19.1 overs but that wasn’t enough for the Cavilers to capture a win.

In the Maris’ innings, B. Lewis 38 and Rayan (only name given) 26 top scored for the their side with a good bowling performance from S. Prasad who bagged four wickets for 26 in 3.1 overs while being supported by S. Sahadoe 2-19 from his four overs.

As the second innings got on its way, Cavaliers in their reply were troubled by some seriously bowling form the Maris Pleasure that demolish the top five batsmen for just a measly 26 runs as the pressure mounted.

The seventh wicket partnership between S.Shiwnandan (62) and S.Persaud 23) provided the stable partnership needed to help the Cavaliers register the win.

The Maris Pleasure bowlers collected eight wickets with L. Lewis having figures of 2-22 in four overs while Alex (only name given) took 3-28 in four overs.
