Championship leaders face fresh challenges in Dakota 100 Round 2

The early leaders in the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s (GMR&SC)’s 2026 Endurance Championship will look to strengthen their positions when Round Two of the Dakota 100 is staged today at the South Dakota Circuit.
The meeting will begin at noon and will feature three segments of racing, starting with a 20-minute Toyota Vitz contest. A 15-lap motorcycle feature will follow before the day concludes with the headline 100-lap endurance race.
Chris Lall enters the second round as the overall championship leader after dominating the opening event. Lall completed all 100 laps to secure overall honours and victory in the Enduro 1501cc-1600cc category, making him the early favourite in the title race.

However, the father-and-son combination of Mohamed Saifudeen Roshandin and Mohamed Shahabudin Roshandin is expected to provide another strong challenge. The pair completed 99 laps in Round One and will be aiming to overturn the narrow one-lap deficit that denied them victory.
Mark Williams will also seek to extend his advantage in the Enduro 1601cc-2000cc division after taking the class win and finishing third overall in the opening round.
Williams is expected to face renewed competition from Randy Moharally and Randel Singh, along with Richard and Reeyaz Hamid.
The Enduro 0-1500cc division is also expected to produce another closely contested battle. Zachary Persaud and Ryan Rahaman won the opening round after completing 97 laps, while Paul Jiwanram finished just two laps behind.
Nyron Maraj and Christopher Samaroo completed the podium and will also be hoping to close the gap during today’s action.
Competition in the Unlimited category is similarly tight. Kamal Seebarran and Shayne Seebarran collected maximum points in Round One after edging Ravin Ramoutar and Ryan Ramoutar on finishing position, with both teams completing 94 laps.
Retesh Singh and Kenneth finished third after completing 92 laps.
Several competitors who suffered mechanical problems during the first round are also expected to return with improved machines, which could add further pressure to the current championship leaders.
With only one round completed, a strong result today could either strengthen an early title challenge or bring several competitors back into contention.
The endurance race will again test the drivers’ speed, strategy and reliability, while the Vitz and motorcycle events are expected to provide fast and close racing before the main feature.
