Chef shot in Albouystown attack

A 27-year-old chef is hospitalised after being shot during an incident at Hunter Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, on Saturday.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said the victim, of Barr Street, Albouystown, was at the location with others when he was approached by a man armed with a handgun.
Police reports indicated that the suspect pointed the firearm at the chef and discharged two rounds, striking him to his left thigh before escaping on a waiting motorcycle parked in the area. The injured man was assisted by public-spirited citizens and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he was admitted. Investigators said CCTV footage from the area will be reviewed as part of ongoing efforts to identify the suspect. No arrests have been made, and enquiries continue.
