Cristopher Ram needs to check his facts, as per his letter in the media on February 14th, 2024.
The Returns of the National Association of Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Employees (NAACIE) are up-to- date as of 2022, and these were filed at the Registrar. The Return for 2023 is due in March, by which time it will be done, and NAACIE will be up-to-date.
What is outstanding are the Audited Financial Statements, which are at the Audit Office of Guyana, for 2016; for which we have no control. The Returns can be filed with unaudited financials until such time as the Audit Office concludes its audit, then these are filed.
The returns are not only about finances, but also deal with membership breakdowns, officers of the union, amendments of the union rules etc.
