Co-worker remanded for murder of logger

Seon Russell, called ‘Basha,’ has been remanded to prison for the murder of Naresh Hansraj, called ‘Master’.
Reports are that the murder took place in an incident that occurred on May 29, 2022 at Tiger Creek, Essequibo River.
Russell, 35, appeared on Tuesday before Bartica Magistrate Crystal Lambert, and was not required to plead to the indictable charge of murder. He has been remanded to prison, and the case is set to continue on July 14.
While a detailed report on the murder has not been issued by the Guyana Police Force, Guyana Times has been informed that Hansraj, 29, of Wakenaam, Region Three (Essequibo Islands-West Demerara), was allegedly shot dead by Russell, who was his co-worker.
Shortly after that shooting incident, the Police had issued a wanted bulletin for Russell, who was later arrested, and has now been charged for the offence. (G9)
