A handyman who was found in possession of a quantity of cocaine was on Wednesday charged, and appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Mark Anthony, 63, of Guyhoc Park, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was jailed for three years after he admitted to the charge brought against him.
The charge stated that on July 18 at Bourda, Georgetown, Anthony was found to be in possession of 4.3 grams of cocaine.
The defendant pleaded for leniency, revealing to Magistrate Azore that he was in the process of seeking help as he was an addict.
However, Magistrate Azore jailed the man for three years.
