Commanding wins for Cut & Load, Crabwood Creek

The Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA)/Roy Baijnauth T20 knockout competition got underway last weekend; with wins for #72 Cut &Load and Crabwood Creek Sports Club.
At the # 72 Cut & Load Ground, Cut & Load got the better of # 59 Youth & Sports Club after racking up 174 from their allotted 20 overs. Clavern Beresford scored 70 not out from and Davenand Chatterpaul scored 33. Bowling for # 59 YSC, Edwin Netehrandra grabbed 2 for 38 from his 4 overs while R. Sukwah 1-38.
The Cut & Load spinners engineered a 75-run collapse with Edwin Netehrandra top scoring with 11as R. Omaperaaud 3-21, D Chatterpaul 2-14, C. Beresford 1-15, M. Singh 1-9 and R Persaud 1-0 helped set up the whopping 99-run win
Over at the # 73 Young Warriors Cricket Club Ground, Crab Wood Creek Sports Club defeated hosts # 73 Young Warriors by 78 runs. Batting first, Crab Wood Creek scored 151 with Qadir Khan 37, N. Deo 25, T. Totaram 17 and L. Seegobin 12 the main scorers.
Bowling for # 73 Young Warriors, Odraj Singh grabbed 4-18, Asad Mohammed 3-24 and Lakram Lathman 2-19 but their team crumbled for 75 runs. Lakram Lathman scored 33 and Odraj Singh 14. Bowling for Crab Wood Creek, Captain D. Chalitar was impressive with 4-16 while M. Bhola supported with 2-18.
President of the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association Hamant Jagdeo, a former UCCA cricketer, turned President said he was confident that his administration can harness the talents of the cricketers in the Upper Corentyne Area through keen and properly organized competitions, such as this one.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the UCCA Vadanand Sugrim expressed his gratitude to the members of the public for their tremendous support of the opening matches. He expressed his gratitude to Mr. Roy Baijnauth for the timely sponsorship of this competition while encouraging all businesses in the Upper Corentyne Area to support the clubs future initiatives.
