Construction worker fined for drunk driving

Thirty-seven-year-old Vibert Gilkes of Bagotville, West Bank Demerara was late last week fined $7,500 for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Police claim Gilkes was intoxicated when they stopped him as he was driving motorcar PTT 708 on the La Grange Public Road, WBD on June 24, 2018. They say a breathalyser test done on Gilkes found his blood alcohol level to be 40 micrograms above the prescribed limit.
Charged and made to appear before Wales Magistrate Dylon Bess, the defendant pleaded guilty to the offence. Accordingly, a notation was made on his driver’s licence and he was fined.
