Asif Mohamed Abrahim, a 45-year-old construction worker of New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara (WCD), appeared on Monday via Zoom before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court to answer
a charge of trafficking-in-persons.
Abrahim was reportedly arrested on January 18, 2024, when the allegation was levelled against him. He pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him, but has, however, been
remanded to prison, and will make his next court appearance on February 5, 2024.
