Police have arrested a suspect after a revolver and a round of ammunition were discovered during an investigation at Kendall Village, East Coast Berbice (ECB) on Sunday. According to police, ranks were conducting enquiries into a report of alleged threatening behaviour at about 10:30h on June 14 when they went to a location in the village and made contact with the suspect.
During the investigation, officers observed a revolver in the man’s possession. When questioned, the suspect reportedly stated that he was not the holder of a firearm licence. The suspect was subsequently arrested and escorted to the Central Police Station along with the firearm. Further examination revealed that the revolver contained one round of ammunition. The firearm and ammunition were lodged.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
