Corona Futsal Tournament continues tonight

After Tuesday night’s intense Corona Futsal showdown at the National Gymnasium, many teams will be fighting for top honours as they compete in the final round of the round robin format this evening.

The winners, runners-up and the best two 3rd placed teams from the three groups will advance to the Quarterfinals, which are scheduled for Monday, May 27.
In ‘Group A’, after playing two matches each, Back Circle are currently leading the table with 6 points, while Sparta Boss and California Square are on 4 and 1 point respectively. Beacons are yet to win a game.
In ‘Group B’, Bent Street and Future Stars are each sitting comfortably on 4 points, while Leopold Street are on three points and Mocha are yet to register a game.
And in ‘Group C’, Tiger Bay are on 6 points while North East La Penitence and West Front Road are tied on 3 points. Tucville currently remain winless.
Tonight’s final round of prelim matches will kick start with Beacons taking on California Square at 19:30 hrs, while Mocha and Future Stars will do battle at 20:15 hrs. Tucville and West Front Road will clash from 21:00hrs, while Tiger Bay meet North East La Penitence at 21:45hrs. Leopold Street will face Bent Street from 22:30hrs, while Back Circle oppose Sparta Boss from 23:15hrs to culminate the night.
The first place winner will receive $500,000, whilst second place will pocket $250,000. Third place will cop a $125,000 prize, while fourth will have to settle for $75,000. The MVP of the tournament is also expected to receive a large prize.
