The Cotton Tree Community of West Coast Berbice will be hosting an event on Sunday, May 13 to celebrate the Village Day under the auspices of friends and families of Cotton Tree and Innovation 360. The event is slated for the Cotton Tree Die Hard Ground, commencing at 09:00h.
The village day will be a family-oriented affair with lots of activities for the entire family ranging from cricket, dominoes, football, hamper distribution and other novelty events. Talents pieces will also form part of the day’s entertainment and special prizes will be up for grabs for teams and patrons.
Participating cricket teams will include Port Mourant, Cotton Tree, De’ Edward, Blairmont among others.
Also, the elderly and mothers will also be given a treat and hampers since it will be Mother’s Day, as well as goodies and ice cream giveaways for children. All patrons to the ground will be given a coupon for a special gift drawing labelled “Village Appreciation Prize”. A “money blowing cage/ball” will also be set up for an opportunity to “grab” cash.
Games, and rides for children, music and tassa drumming, along with various other forms of entertainment will be available at the venue. The entire village is invited to come out and have a day of fun and frolic.
