COVID-19 ICU cases remain at zero, 4 new cases recorded

Guyana has recorded four new COVID-19 cases as of Monday, with the number of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) remaining at zero.
Updated statistics via the Health Ministry’s dashboard have shown that active cases are at 98. There are 93 persons in home isolation, five in institutional isolation, and 11 in institutional quarantine.
There are 62,049 recoveries after 29,173 males and 34,202 females tested positive. COVID-19 tests have amounted to 584,139 since the virus was first detected here.
Most recent vaccination statistics show that 439,140 or 85.6 per cent of adults have taken a first dose and of that number, some 338,208 or 65.9 per cent are fully vaccinated.
For adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17, approximately 34,407 or 47.2 per cent of them have received their first dose, while some 25,160 or 34.5 per cent of them are fully immunised.
In addition, in excess of 60,612 persons have returned for their booster shots thus far. Booster doses have been offered by countries since the data shows that immunity from vaccines starts to wane after six months of immunisation.
