Cuban national found dead along ECD railway embankment

Police in Regional Division Four C are investigating the discovery of the body of a 53-year-old Cuban national whose remains were found along the Railway Embankment at Coldingen, East Coast Demerara, on Wednesday morning.
Dead is Wilbur Fonseca of Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
According to Police, the body was discovered at about 06:31h lying motionless on the southern side of the embankment.
Investigators visited the scene and conducted an examination of the body. Police reported that no visible marks of violence were observed.
A cellular phone was found in the deceased’s pants pocket, while his driver’s licence and one boot were recovered nearby.
A doctor who attended the scene pronounced Fonseca dead, and his body was subsequently transported to Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
