Team Evolution’s Curtis Dey emerged as the winner of the 45-mile Cheddi Jagan Memorial cycling race on the West Bank of Demerara, stopping the clock in one hour, 45 minutes and 35 seconds.
The event pedalled off at Schoonord, West Bank Demerara (WBD) and proceed to Bushy Park, East Bank Essequibo (EBE) before returning to the starting point for the finish.
In the senior category, Dey was followed by Team Kaieteur Attack Racing duo Deeraj Ghabarran and Andre “Padlock” Green (third).
Christopher Griffith of Team Evolution came in fourth followed by Geron Williams and Paul DeNobrega.
Berbician Mario Washington was the top junior rider followed by Alexander Leung and Sherwin Sampson. In the veterans’ category, Robin Persaud of Team Carlton Wheelers emerged as victor followed by Alexis Mendes of Team Kaieteur Attack Racing and Paul Choo-wee-nam of Team Alanis.
Linden’s Clivecia Spencer of Team Coco’s was the top female rider followed by Denise Jeffrey of Team Evolution and Marica Dick of Team United We Stand.
The event was sponsored by Mohamed’s Enterprise and Joe Jagmohaman, and organised by Coach Hassan Mohamed, MS.
