CWC taxi driver chopped to face during argument

A taxi driver is now nursing a chop to his face following an argument with a man who rode into the door of his car at Crabwood Creek, Corentyne, Berbice, on Sunday evening. The injured man was identified as 27-year-old Safar Dillawar of CWC.
Based on reports received, on the day in question at about 20:30h, the victim was reportedly seated on a culvert in an access street in Crabwood Creek when the suspect rode into the door of his car that was parked along the street.
This resulted in an argument between them. Police stated that the suspect left the scene and soon after returned with a cutlass in his hand which he used to inflict a single chop to the victim’s face and made good his escape.
The injured man was taken to the Skeldon Public Hospital by his brother where he was treated and admitted a patient under observation. His condition is regarded as serious.
Based on information received, the suspect was contacted and taken to the Springlands Police Station where he was placed into custody pending an investigation.
