Defending champions in the Milo Schools Under-18 Football tournament, Christianburg Wismar Secondary School, and North Ruimveldt Multilateral School have completed the semifinal lineup for this competition following wins on Wednesday evening.
The Milo Semifinal fixtures for Sunday, July 24th, have been set in stone following resounding 5-0 and 3-0 victories earned by CWSS and North Ruimveldt respectively.
In the first game of the evening, Christianburg Wismar came up against an aspiring Cummings Lodge Secondary, who looked good in their quarterfinal match last week.
After a slow start, Christianburg recorded their first goal in the 17th from the efforts of Kemar Mc Lauren, and their second in the 35th from Demoll Warber. At half time the score was reading 2-0.
In the next half, Mc Lauren demonstrated his dominance by completing his hattrick with goals in the 67th and 76th minutes. Meanwhile, Kelvin Hintzen added one in the 69th to bring Christianburg’s tally to five.
The following game was another lopsided contest, from which North Ruimveldt Secondary emerged victorious over West Ruimveldt Secondary.
Omar Sam opened the scoring for North in the 7th minute, and Akeem Perreira followed up with North’s second goal in the 21st minute. The third and final goal came in the 27th minute off the boots of North’s Jevon Pluck.
West Ruimveldt cleaned up their act in the second segment, and managed to restrict their opponents’ scoring, but were unable to find the back of the net, resulting in North’s 3-0 win.
Already highly anticipated, the Milo semifinal games will be hosted this Sunday at the Ministry of Education Ground on Carifesta Avenue.
In the first semi, 2019 champs Christianburg Wismar would be aspiring to become back-to-back finalists when they lock horns with Golden Grove Secondary from 3pm.
The second semi, which pits Dolphin Secondary against North Ruimveldt Multilateral, begins at 5pm.
