09:00h with the younger riders going up against each other in the boys and girls BMX races aged 6-9,9-12, 12-14 followed by the Open race which is the main event of the day.

Up for the challenge will be the Junior and Juvenile riders as well as the Mountain Bikers and Veterans.

However, the highlight of the day will be the 35-lap featured race. This race is particularly important for the clubs as they look to get the edge over the other not to mention their riders looking to start their season on a positive note.

Team Evolution has built a somewhat sort of expectation in winning this event, having notched up victories in the previous two editions of the event, Team Cocos, who had a red hot streak in the latter part of the 2016 season, will be gunning for the win in the upcoming edition. Team Cocos, with the likes of Hamza Eastman, Raynauth ‘Obeah Man’ Jeffrey, Stephano ‘Sunny’ Husbands and Jamaul John will not be easy to beat.

However, with the skills and talent of last season’s best rider Orville Hinds, Michael Antony and Marlon Williams Team Gillette Evolution will be bringing the pace to their opponents.

Not to be excluded from the contest for the top spot Linden Bauxite Flyer’s Shaquel Agard, Team Alanis Paul Nobrega, United We Stand pair, Andrew Hicks and Raphael Leung as well as the beast, Roarima’s Alanzo Greaves.

Last year’s main event was won by Anthony, who stopped the clock at one hour, 18 minutes, 38.90 seconds (01h: 18m: 38.90s).

While Anthony would no doubt be looking for a repeat, he would be fully aware that his opponents would also be gunning for a win to start the season on a positive note.

Some of the other winners from 2016 were Romello Crawford in the Juveniles, Andrew Spencer in the Veterans, Adelia Hodge in the BMX 12-14 and Ronaldo Narine in the 12-14 Racing Bikes.

As per tradition, the presentation ceremony will be conducted by representatives of Ricks and Sari Agro Industries who will also be there in their numbers to witness the action.
