Dealing with…Duplicitous Delcy

You, Dear Readers, might think your Eyewitness has it in for Devious, Duplicitous Delcy – and you’d be right!! But his antipathy didn’t begin with her being catapulted into the hot seat from which her boss, Mad Maduro, had been ejected by Pres Trump. It burst forth when she was chosen as Mad Maduro’s spear carrier to the World Court – as he escalated Venezuela’s campaign across all fronts to seize our Essequibo!! That’s right… It was Delcy who schizophrenically played the “good lawyer; bad lawyer” charade in front of the ICJ Judges – pleading from one side of her mouth as to how Venezuela wuz robbed by perfidious Britain and from the other side that she didn’t even accept their jurisdiction over the matter!!
Now – as he warned yesterday – we gotta expect that Dubious Delcy’s gonna be attacking on all fronts, knowing fully well that Venezuela’s “case” was never one as such – just a concocted “controversy” – and the ICJ will rule in our favour. Now a modern state has at its disposal power through its DIME national resources – Diplomacy, Intelligence, Military and Economic – and Deceitful Delcy will be using them all!! On the diplomatic front we’ve already seen her courting of members of CARICOM – supposedly our closest diplomatic allies – with Grenada’s Dickon and Barbados simpering over her brooch that signalled Venezuela’s annexation of Essequibo!! Expect more courtings – so we gotta counter, using Trinidad’s stance as the model we should reward!!
The big enchilada and whale, however, is President Trump – who holds practically all the cards over Devious Delcy!! She had to’ve signed on to the former’s invasion plan long before it was launched!! The Yanks weren’t gonna remove the centre of Venezuelan power without having someone to fill that vacuum!! To do so would’ve encouraged diehard Chavistas in the army to make their move!!
Meanwhile, she’s not only doing whatever Pres Trump asks – like opening up the oil, mining and other business opportunities to the Yanks – but has also become one of his biggest boosters. At a function early this month welcoming two-billion-dollar oil investors – including Hunt Oil – on the inaugural daily flight of American Airlines between Miami and Caracas, she coyly burst out:
“Please tell President Trump, WHO IS A MAN OF ACTION, that in Venezuela there are men and women of action but also of their word. And we have made a commitment to build solid, long-term relations between the US and Venezuela.” Trump’s rep replied that the White House is looking to promote oil, gas, and mining investments!!
So to those who’re criticising Pressie for opening up to investments from the Yanks – this not only addresses the latter’s concerns about Chinese investments but also counters Dirty Delcy’s manoeuvres!!
