Decomposed body of pensioner found in house

The partially decomposed body of a 72-year-old man was found on Wednesday at his No 67 Village, Corentyne, Berbice home. Dead is Phowder Gangadat.
Police stated that the man lived alone in a one-flat wooden structure, and according to a family friend, he was of unsound mind and would usually walk around aimlessly in the community.
He was reportedly last seen on Sunday at about 16:30h. However, on Wednesday at about 06:30h, a resident went to check on him and found the house open. Upon checking, the man’s motionless body was found on the floor. He was naked at the time.
Police were summoned to the scene and it was observed that the body was partially decomposed.
It was taken to Anthony’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem.
