Department of Youth to host “Mashramani Youth Village”

Guyanese youth can now look forward to a vibrant Mashramani Village at D’Urban Park leading up to the February 23, 2020 celebrations.

Mashramani Coordinator Andrew Tyndall

According to Mashramani Coordinator Andrew Tyndall, the aim of the village is to give Guyanese youth the opportunity to interact with several agencies.
“When you come to the village, young people will have the opportunity to interact with agencies, NGOs, Private Sector agencies, other governmental agencies where they can find out about employment because we know that it is something that is big on the agenda for young people, and where they can also find out about the pathway to getting into certain careers”, he explained.
Tyndall further added that young entrepreneurs will also be present at the village to advise youth in becoming businessmen and women.
“It can be a motivation and encouragement to other young people to get into business”, he pointed out.
The coordinator had also encouraged youth who are talented in dance and drama from Regions Three and Four to attend auditions at the Umana Yanan on Saturday, January 11, 2020, for a chance to perform at the upcoming Youth Talent Festa.
Meanwhile, the auditions are expected to move to Regions Six and 10 the following Saturday where youth in those areas will also be given the same opportunity.
