Women Across Differences (WAD) received a donation for its new Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Upper Essequibo) location just in time for International Women’s Day.
Digicel donated three laptops to the organisation at Digicel’s head office in Kingston, Georgetown. This donation, according to Digicel, came as a timely reminder and in observance of International Women’s Day and to celebrate the work that WAD is currently doing with women to achieve social transformation.
“We are happy that we can assist and partner with WAD, being able to contribute to the empowerment of women is something that Digicel will always be happy to do,” Digicel Guyana’s CEO, Gregory Dean, said at the simple handing over ceremony.
WAD Coordinator, Clonel Samuels-Boston, who received the donations on behalf of the organisation, mentioned that the timely donation will greatly assist with their works at their newly established Ignatius, Kumu & Quarrie sub-offices in Region Nine.
WAD is a national network of women and women’s organisations committed to individual and social transformation in Guyana and Digicel has over the years partnered with them on various initiatives and programmes, lending support where it is necessary. (G2)
