On Monday, CIOG said that the outreach was supported by the Guyana Cancer Foundation, The Blood Bank and The National AIDS Programme Secretariat (NAPS). At the event, residents were able to have blood pressure and glucose level testing, access to mental healthcare, overall medical check-ups, provision of over-the-counter and prescription medication. Despite the heavy rainfall, the medical team was able to provide assistance to approximately 150 persons inclusive of children, the elderly and physically challenged persons.
Along with the medical care provided, the residents present were issued with packages that catered to basic daily necessities; inclusive of sanitation products, face masks, clothing, diapers, hair and skincare products.
