Driver escapes after minibus topples on Homestretch Ave

Police are on the hunt for the driver of minibus bearing registration number BWW 4714 that was involved in an accident on Homestretch Avenue, Georgetown on Thursday evening, which left several persons nursing multiple injuries.

Guyana Times was told that the driver of the minibus, which was proceeding West along Homestretch Avenue at a fast rate, lost control of the vehicle causing it to topple, throwing several passengers out of the minibus as it toppled. However, after the bus turned turtle, the driver managed to free himself and ran from the scene, leaving the passengers to fend for themselves.
Several passengers were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by Police. This newspaper was told that no one suffered any life-threatening injuries.
