Home News Driver flees from hospital after causing accident at Pouderoyen
An unidentified pedestrian is now hospitalised while the driver of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) is on the run following an accident on Monday at the Pouderoyen Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD).
Police stated that Daniel Singh was driving the ATV bearing registration number CK 4481, while Reshma Baldeo, of Goed Fortuin, WBD, was the pillion rider.
Based on reports received, the ATV was proceeding along the Pouderoyen Public Road at a fast pace. As a result, Singh reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to topple several times and strike a pedestrian before it came to a halt on the other side of the road.
As a result of the accident, the pillion rider received a laceration on the right side of her face while the pedestrian sustained multiple injuries.
The injured pillion rider and the pedestrian were both transported to the West Demerara Regional Hospital (WDRH), where they were treated. The pillion rider was discharged, but the pedestrian was admitted a patient. Up to press time, the injured pedestrian had not been identified.
