The now dead woman moments after the accident on Sunday last

The dead persons were occupants of motorcar PMM 548, which collided head-on with minibus BHH 8451. The bus was reportedly heading to Grove, East Bank Demerara while the motorcar was heading to Linden.
Initial investigation revealed that Shennelle Hughes had driven the motor car into a pool of water, causing her to lose control of the vehicle, which swerved into the path of the minibus and resulted in the collision.
Several persons from both vehicles had sustained injuries, and were rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where they were treated. Those with the more serious injuries were transferred to the GPHC.
Three of the eight persons transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital have subsequently succumbed.
A sister of the dead woman, when contacted, refused to offer a comment.
