The police are on the hunt for the driver of a Honda CRV motor vehicle, which he left at the Montrose, East Coast Demerara (ECD), seawall with 112.5 pounds of ganja.
Police stated that ranks of the anti-crime patrol were in Montrose, ECD, at about 20:10h on Monday when they observed a parked blue CRV motor vehicle and approached same.
However, as the police vehicle got closer, an unidentifiable male ran into the mangroves and made good his escaped—leaving the vehicle behind.
The vehicle was subsequently searched, during which two bags containing several parcels of compressed ganja were discovered.
Following the discovery, the vehicle was taken to the Statendam Police Station and processed for fingerprints.
Up to press time, no arrest was made, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
