Duo busted, arrested with illegal GPL electric wire, meter

Two men, a 58-year-old and a 33-year-old, were arrested on Sunday after they were found to be in possession of a quantity of GPL electric wires and a meter at La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
Based on reports received, on the day in question, several Police ranks and GPL representatives conducted a house-to-house operation in La Jalousie and Cornelia Ida, WCD.
Police stated that acting on information received, they proceeded to the residence of one of the suspects where they discovered a quantity of GPL electric wires and a meter.
The suspect was questioned as it relates to having GPL property in his possession but he did not give any reasonable explanation. As such, he was immediately arrested.
However, acting on further information received, the team proceeded to a house at Cornelia Ida where the second suspect was contacted, and whilst carrying out investigations, another set of wires and meter were found in his possession.
When questioned, he too could not give any reasonable explanation, thus, he was taken into custody.
Both men remain in custody for the offence of Illegal Diversion of Electricity. Investigations continue.
