Duo robbed while waiting to witness autopsy

A vendor and a male taxi driver were on Friday morning robbed by three armed men at the Memorial Gardens & Crematorium at Le Repentir Cemetery in Georgetown, while waiting to witness the post mortem of a relative.
The vendor was relieved of one iPhone 6, one Samsung Galaxy, one gold chain, one gold bangle and $50,000 in cash, while the taxi driver was relieved of one Samsung Galaxy phone and $130,000 in cash.
Police have said that on the day in question, at about 8:30h, the duo were at the Memorial Gardens & Crematorium when they were confronted by the three men.
One of the suspects reportedly brandished a handgun at the vendor and relieved her of her phones, jewellery and cash, before
turning his attention to the taxi driver, whom he also relieved of his phone and the abovementioned cash.
After committing the robbery, the armed suspect discharged two rounds in the air before the suspects escaped.
The Police were summoned to the area, and an investigation was launched, but up to press time, no arrest was made.
