A man was remanded to prison on Friday morning when he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly charged for stealing a cellphone.
Seon Prince made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts and

denied the allegation against him.
The charge against Prince alleged that on August 9, 2017, at East Street, Georgetown he stole one RCA cellphone; property of Richard Grandy.
However, according to Prince, he did not steal the cellphone and is being falsely accused.
He told the court that he was in the car where the Virtual Complainant (VC) dropped his cellphone. He said that he was accused of taking the phone.
The Police Prosecutor objected to bail being granted as the defendant does not have a fix place of abode, adding that he previously failed to make court appearances.
As such, bail was denied and the defendant was remanded to prison. He will return to court on August 29.
