An Eastern Airlines aircraft, this afternoon, ran off the runway at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).
According to information, from CJIA sources, the Boeing 767 aircraft was one of the flights repatriating Guyanese from the United States. It is believed that the right landing gear of the aircraft skidded off the runway during landing shortly after 14:00h.
It is unclear how many persons were on board at the time of the incident but no injuries have been reported.
