Miner died from multiple stab wounds – PME

Triangular love affair

As the Police in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni) continue to hunt for the prime suspect in the murder of 30-year-old Teo “Max” James, a post-mortem examination (PME) showed that he died due to multiple stab wounds.

Dead: Teo James

James, a gold miner of West La Penitence Housing Scheme, Georgetown, was stabbed to death on Monday during a confrontation relating to a triangular love affair.
The PME was conducted by Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Wednesday.
Police have since said that the suspect, known as “Tallman” remains on the run.
Based on reports received, the now dead man and the suspect had a relationship with the same woman. According to reports, James returned to Bartica after visiting his family members in Georgetown, only three days before he was killed.
His sister, Simone Parker told Guyana Times that the family was informed by another sibling who is also a miner, that their brother was playing a game of Bingo when the suspect allegedly sneaked up behind him and stabbed him several times about his body.
The dead man’s sister claimed that the murder stemmed from an argument between the suspect and the woman, with whom both men shared a relationship. The sister claimed that the woman heard that James had returned and reportedly told her other lover that he could not visit her any longer.
Parker said the suspect reportedly told the woman that “I will show you that will never happen”. Subsequently, “Tallman” allegedly pounced on James. After the attack, James fell to the ground, and was rushed to the Bartica Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation is still ongoing. (G9)
