ECB hails Paul on Windies A selection

The Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) praised Guyana Jaguars all-rounder Keemo Paul, for his recent selection to the West Indies “A” Team.
The 20 year-old ex-West Indies U19 World Cup winning vice-captain, took another step closer to his foreshadowed West Indies senior call-up when a stellar Regional 4-Day tournament helped pip his chances.
The release from the board read, “As he continues to master his genuine art of being an all-round cricketer, shifting the balance of games into his team’s favor, we urge him to stay focused for he has the makings of a nonpareil cricketer”.
Meanwhile, the Essequibo-born Paul continues to flourish as he presses for an international selection. The right-arm pacer bagged 42 scalps in the 4-Dayers, playing a crucial role in Guyana winning the title for a record fourth straight year.
With the bat, Paul struck 260 runs with a fifty and his maiden first-class ton, a blistering 107 but it was his cameos and the ability to find the ropes and over which has helped catapulted the young Essequibian’s career.
Prior to his call up to the A team, Paul who had bagged some 19 wickets in the Regional Super50 Cup, was more integral with the ball and played a huge role in helping Guyana to the semi-final stages.
The heartfelt release concluded with the words, “From the onset of his journey Paul displayed vivacity, flair and promise of being one who will be recorded amongst the most optimum of players. Remaining aspired and focused will only see him propelling himself to the most elevated of levels, continuing to make his support team proud”.
