El Dorado Trading representative Kampta Seepersaud handed over the company’s financial contribution to DCB Public Relations Officer Clarence Brotherson during a presentation at the company’s Young Street office.
The DCB thanked the company for its support, describing corporate partnerships as important to strengthening cricket development and creating opportunities for young players throughout the county.
The participating teams are Premier Insurance, Lusignan Bulls, Guyana Police Force, Mike’s Tynor XI, Young Rivals, Mae’s Spartans, Upper Demerara Titans and Transport Trailblazers.
Tournament regulations will ensure that Demerara players make up the majority of each franchise’s squad. Teams will be allowed 15 players, including at least 12 from Demerara and a maximum of three from outside the county.
Each squad must also include at least two Under-19 players, with at least one required to play in the starting XI. The rules are intended to give emerging cricketers opportunities to compete while supporting the development of local talent.
The board is encouraging cricket fans, families, businesses and the wider public to attend, with proceeds supporting its efforts to grow the game among boys and girls at the grassroots level.
