Excitement is mounting as the 3rd annual New Era Entertainment Cell Smart Mohamed’s Enterprise Futsal tournament continues with four competitive games at the McKenzie Sports Club hard court, Linden tonight.
Following on the heals of Monday’s gripping battles, fans can already predict some high scoring matches with the record the tournament is known for. It will be the first time Customs will take to the court for the 40 minute duel but will enter the tournament facing a dominant Spikeland team. Spikeland, who has had a dream start to their competition with Keiron Cammorn and Andre Chester spearheading their attack, will be a handful to deal with.
Team Empire who is fresh off a 10-3 hammering of Mile Spot will be in good shape as they head into their clash with MSC Lions in the second match of the night. While teenage sensation, Jermain Masson was the star for Empire with four goals, he is well supported by the likes of Curt Johnson and Kevin Beaton who will be heading their line up while Magic Star will play Chelsea. Meanwhile, crowd favourites, Plantain and Cheese will also be in action when they come up against the winner of the Custom/Spikeland clash.
The first prize is $400,000 along with trophies and replicas, up by $100,000 from last year. The second placed team will claim $150,000 and trophy, third $75,000 and trophy and fourth place will collect a trophy. Other prizes are on offer for the MVP, Best goalkeeper, most goals and Best young player. The competition runs today and continues on December 10, 17, 23 and 26 the grand finale. The organisers are promising an exciting and entertaining tournament with side attractions and are encouraging all to come out and support as the team put their best on the court to claim the prize money on offer.
