A speedboat operator was in the wee hours of Tuesday attacked and shot by a lone gunman at his home at Spring Garden, Essequibo Coast, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam).

Injured is Mohammed Gafoor, also known as “Temor”, a father of three. He is presently in a stable condition in the men’s ward at the Suddie Public Hospital.
Guyana Times understands that the businessman had returned home from work just after midnight, and as he entered his house, he was confronted by the armed bandit.
As a result, a scuffle ensued between the victim and the gunman, during which the gunman gun-butted the victim and shot him to his left arm before fleeing the scene. It was later related that the armed man escaped with $700,000 in cash along with a gold chain belonging to the businessman.
