Essequibo Coast man arrested after biting mother, son

A 23-year-old man is now in Police custody, after he bit a woman and her son, during a confrontation at Reliance, Essequibo Coast.
One of the victims, a 33-year-old carpenter, told Police that about 20:30h on Thursday, he along with the 23-year-old male were consuming alcohol, when the suspect got up and left.
Shortly after, the carpenter heard his mother screaming, and upon checking, she complained that the suspect had bitten her on her hand.
The 23-year-old then picked up a bottle containing a poisonous substance, and when the victim intervened, the suspect also bit him on his hand and scratched him about his chest.
They were both taken to the Suddie Public Hospital and a report was made to the Police. The suspect was subsequently arrested.
Almost two weeks ago, a woman bit a Police Officer who attempted to arrest her son.
Based on reports received, the car in which the woman was travelling and which was being driven by her son, was pulled over by Police in the vicinity of the Demerara Harbour Bridge (DHB).
At the time, the woman’s daughter was also in the vehicle. A video that circulated on social media of the incident showed the officer about to arrest the man when an argument erupted.
It was then his mother intervened in an attempt to stop the Police Officer from arresting her son, and in the process bit him.
