Essequibo man nabbed with ganja

A 28-year-old labourer from the Onderneeming Sand Pit area in Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) was nabbed by Police in Essequibo on Saturday evening with a quantity of cannabis.
A search was conducted during which Police unearthed a quantity of seeds, leaves and stem suspected to be cannabis. The substance was found in the man’s right pants pocket. He was told of the offence, but denied the charge.
The suspect, Audwin Pilgrim, was later taken to the Suddie Police Station where the substance was weighed and amounted to 12 grams. He is presently in Police custody pending charges.
