Essequibo man on $20,000 bail for dangerous driving

Neeshi Biteach, of Lot 34 Devonshire Castle Village on the Essequibo Coast, was on Tuesday granted ,000 bail after he was charged with dangerous driving.
He made his first appearance before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court.dangerous-driving
Biteach pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on November 12, on the Suddie Public Road, he drove motor car PPP 1440 in a dangerous manner, hitting a pedal cyclist, Phiona Harry.
The cyclist, who suffered a fractured foot, is currently a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
After pleading not guilty to the charge, Biteach was granted bail. The defendant is expected to return to court on December 8, 2016, for the commencement of his trial. Biteach was initially placed on $50,000 station bail.
