Miner allegedly disappears while working in Puruni backdam

The Police are now investigating the alleged disappearance of 27-year-old Noel Anthony Fredericks, a miner of Mainstay/Whyaka Village, Essequibo, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), who went to work in Region Seven.

Based on the Police report, the missing man was employed at a mining camp located at Toroparu backdam, Lower Puruni River. Preliminary investigations revealed that Fredericks left his camp on April 14, 2022, at about 17:30h. He was last seen at about 3:00h the following morning in the company of a 29-year-old man.
The men were reportedly under the influence of alcohol and were seen leaving a shop in the area. Details about the other man are not available. However, Fredericks is of Amerindian descent, medium built, and fair in complexion. He also sported long black hair.
At the time of his disappearance, he was clad in a pair of blue jeans and a white top. Anyone with information that can lead to the whereabouts of the young man is asked to contact 911 or the nearest Police station.
