Everest Masters set to tackle Belle Vue Seniors in epic showdown

Riveting action continues tomorrow at the Everest Cricket Club on Camp Road when the Everest Masters take on the Belle Vue Senior Team in what is expected to be an epic cricket showdown.

The Everest Masters

The action commences at 12:00 hrs, and Everest will attempt to maintain their unbeaten 1-nil streak against these opponents. The last time the two teams met, Everest Masters dominated the encounter, posting a brilliant 154-5 in their allotted overs.
In reply Belle Vue could amass only 143-9 in their 20 overs, thus handing Everest their first win. This year, the event will be a 25-overs-per-side affair. Despite the encounter being a friendly,
Belle Vue will be looking to up the stakes against their opponents and bag a win. That win make the Masters tied 1-1 with Belle Vue and there would be need for a third encounter to decide the true champions.
The Everest Masters would be in need of a win, as despite defeating Belle Vue in 2018, they lost their most recent game to the West Demerara Mavericks. A win would mean a boost in confidence for the seasoned team, but with the legendary Shiv Chanderpaul batting for the Masters, Belle Vue would have to have an ace up their sleeve if they are to win this match.
However, since the match is being played on the home turf of the Masters, the advantage would favour Everest. But as of recent, with the inclement weather pattern, the match can be swayed in favour of any team. it is expected that the team winning the toss and batting first would win this encounter.
The Everest Team is comprised as follows: Rajesh Singh, Sahadeo Hardaiow, Saheed Mohamed, Hemraj Garbarran, Shiv Chanderpaul, Basil Persaud, Ronald Jaisingh, Anand Persaud, Anwar Rahaman, Ravi Narayan, Ucil Armstrong, Bisham Singh, Joseph Perry and Nadir Baksh.
The Belle Vue Seniors Team is comprised as follows: Krishna Singh, Sham Persaud, Mohammed Abid Haniff, Randy Ramrup, Dwyane Daymon, Steve Mahadeo, Safraz Baksh, Ajula Bowman, Jake Rambarose, Selwin Rogers, Michael Persaud, and Satesh Singh.
The winner’s trophy is sponsored by the Rockaway Group of New York, while the man-of-the-match trophy is sponsored by Trophy Stall.
